North Wales Premier Gothic Belly Dancers

Weird Sisters

What happens when Arabic dance meets music by Dead Can Dance or Siouxsie and the Banshees? The result has become known as 'Gothic Belly Dance' and is the most rapidly developing aspect of this ancient art form. Devotees of this new style have moved away from the sequins and rhinestones of 'Cabaret-style' belly dance and have created a darker, more mesmerising spectacle, drawing inspiration from the music, literature and fashion which typifies the Goth movement.

Weird Sisters Gothic Belly Dance group was formed in North Wales in 2004. Swirling veils, skillfully balanced swords, and trance-inducing zill patterns are signature elements of performances which demonstrate how successfully the discipline of traditional Arabic dance can be presented to a modern, Western audience.

Weird Sisters Gothic Belly Dance Group bring years of combined professional experience in performance and production to provide a dynamic dance experience for both artistes and audience.
